Our mission is to bridge the gap between the amount of money actually provided by the State of California and the amount necessary to provide a first-class, high quality education to our students at Poway High School. A volunteer board of dedicated parents and educators governs the Foundation as a non-profit organization, organizes fundraising activities and votes on program and equipment expenditures. Over the years we have donated back to Poway High School several hundred thousand dollars.

Bridge the Gap!

Dear Parents and Friends of Poway High,

As Poway High celebrates its 51st year with the class of 2012, we are anticipating continued cuts in funding by the State of California. Our Friends of Poway High School Foundation’s mission is to “Bridge the Gap” between the amount of money actually provided by the State of California and the amount necessary to provide a first-class, high quality education to our students at Poway High.

The goal of our “Back to School” campaign is to raise $40,000 for student programs and technology improvements at risk of being cut this year. These programs are critical to students this year and provide opportunities for students to build leadership and character through various activities.

Thank you to all who gave generously last year to the Foundation. Your contributions totaled more than $120,000 and allowed us to purchase DocuCams for 30 classrooms; computers, software, printers and maintenance supplies to support existing technology at PHS; and salary support for Student Services; a donor restricted grant for the agricultural department; Senior Project Day support and many other important programs.

Please consider giving a tax-deductible gift to the Friends of Poway High Foundation to support programs needed for our students during these tough economic times. We are grateful for your support!

Sincerely,

David Rauterkus
